3 Changes To Facebook Advertising  See the article here

This one is less of a new update and more of a helpful summary of the major changes that have happened affecting Facebook advertising in the past year since the infamous Cambridge Analytica scandal.

Basically, the most important things to remember are:

  1. No more Partner Categories – third-party data pools provided by companies such as Acxiom and Oracle are gone, so you have to be more creative with your prospecting targeting
  2. Wider use of Facebook Pixel – more advertisers are using “cookie banners” to let site visitors know what’s up, and also Pixel is more relied upon now for custom audiences because…
  3. Stricter Rules on Uploaded List Targeting – Facebook won’t let you target email lists unless you inform them that the list is only made up of explicitly consenting users, to ensure GDPR compliance

With $4.61B attributed directly to digital advertising, it’s safe to say that Amazon is continuing to get it right. Although it is far behind Google & Facebook in terms of ad revenue, the fact that they have surpassed Microsoft is an accomplishment they should be proud of.
