In another example of misleading users on how their information is used, Twitter has issued an admission and apology for allowing phone numbers used for authentication to be matched with advertising targeting.  This is a practice that is used on other platforms, especially Facebook, but the importance is as always if that use is clearly communicated to and agreed to by the user.  As advertisers, we like data.  But we want that data to be freely given for use, rather than the consumer giving it under false pretenses.

Google has release 2 new audience types for search. One of these audience types is custom affinity audiences, which is already utilized in display and video, but is new to search.This audience targets peoples long term interests. the other is more to the benefits of seasonal shoppers for black friday
